Back from the UK

UK tour We had a great tour to the UK as guests of The Bible Society. It was a full itinerary with only 2 days off and lots of driving between locations.

We met some fantastic people and really appreciated the way the local hosts looked after us and helped to ensure that every concert event was a impacting experience for those attending.

Interviews with 6 BBC radio stations and Premier Radio (national Christian broadcaster) went extremely well and will have set the platform for another visit in 2011.

The tour culminated with a special event held at the Methodist Central Hall in the heart of London with over 1000 people enjoying an evening of ministry from Pastor Bill Johnson from Bethel in the USA and Sons of Korah.

We have received many, many emails from people all over the UK since our visit sharing how the music and ministry had impacted them.

A special THANK YOU to all those that we worked with during the tour, our host Churches and homes and most of all to Rob Cotton and his team from the Bible Society for supporting the tour.

Sons of Korah live recordings This album is a collection of live recordings made at Sons of Korah concerts between 2005 and 2010. Most of them were recorded in our hometown of Geelong, Victoria, Australia but three of the tracks were recorded during our amazing tour of the Netherlands in 2009. Our desire was to try to capture the emotion, energy and atmosphere of the live concert journey, a journey into the spiritual drama of the Psalms. We've really benefited from being able to see and hear ourselves in our latest live recordings. Sometimes it is really hard to get any objectivity when you are in the band and playing the music yourself. All you ever hear night after night is that rough fold-back sound on stage. Often it is hard to get a sense of what is happening out there in the audience, you just trust that the music is touching hearts and impacting lives. Hope you enjoy our first live CD recording. Thrive So many people have been impacted by the teaching provided my Matt as Sons of Korah take them on a journey through the Psalms. Matt is the teaching Pastor at a large church in Geelong Victoria and his ability to open scripture and engage people at a completely new and refreshing level is an amazing gift. For some time we were hounded to get some of Matt’s teaching material available and so we launched Thrive – a brand new daily devotional written by Matthew Jacoby. Thrive comes out each quarter and you can subscribe to have this sent to your home by emailing stuart@sonsofkorah.com

Romans: The Unofficial Soundtrack -- OUT NOW!

Romans We are also excited to announce the release of Romans: The Unofficial Soundtrack. This is a project conceived by myself (Matt) and produced by Mike Avery (SoK bass player). It is not a 'Sons of Korah' project as such (very different stylistically!!) -- but we have produced it for the same reason as we produce the Sons of Korah albums: to engage people with the Word of God. It combines the grandiose reading of the King James text by actor Alexander Scourby with an electronic-industrial soundtrack. A very interesting juxtaposition. We are an independent band and therefore we do not have access to the big commercial promotional opportunities. Our biggest promotional vehicle has and always will be YOU telling others about our project. We have been greatly blessed through this grass roots approach and we are very grateful to those who believe in what we do enough to point other people our way and use our albums as gifts for others. We have always been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of our listeners to help us promote our project and this has been the single most important factor in God's providence for us. Thankyou.
